How did the first season of the expensive new Boston Tea Party Museum go? What are the skin care habits of upper class women in the Back Bay? How did Mayor Kevin White change Boston? How does a tour guide deal with “dead spots” in his tour? These are some of the questions which are currently being considered in articles forthcoming by the insightful staff of Bostontourguide.org.
In addition to these articles, trolley tour guide Emily is currently designing a logo for Btg, and duck boat tour guide Delilah Webb is building the website. My coworkers at Super Tours are eminently good natured and talented. But this site is for all the trolley drivers, Old Town, Beantown, and Citiview. And for the Segway people. And the walking guides. And the museum guides. And the historical re-enactors. And the Boston Duck Captains. And students of Boston. And teachers of Boston. And visitors to Boston. The relevance to visitors to Boston comes in part from the calendar which will list events in Boston, and the listing of the hours of all touristic institutions of Boston (forthcoming).
Our staff includes tour guides, but also a couple of people outside the industry with deep connections to Boston. This site is intended as a resource for guides and guests, a source of insight and discovery for anyone interested in Boston as a city. I think if you want to attract people to your site, you need to make it anonymous, so people feel comfortable leaving commentary etc. For anybody that wants to be named by name that’s great, but for a commentator not so great.Otherwise this is a great concept. ONLY you as the editor should know who I am.

How do I become a Boston Tour Guide?
I have compiled a list of criteria for anyone wishing to become a tour guide in Boston;
1. Prospect must be clean and neat.
2. Prospect must be devilishly handsome (or cute as a bug’s ear)!
3. Intelligence is a must.
4. Quick wit and ability to think on the spot is essential.
5. Charm and charisma is also a must.
6. Exceptional knowledge of the city is paramount.
7. Did I mention good looks?!
8. Ability to drive a giant vehicle down a tight one-way street (the wrong way) without scaring the passengers, frightening the pedestrians, or alerting the police.
9. Applicant must be drug free!
